“Matt was someone you’d always want to have in your corner…”

Matt Alsfeld was a beloved son, brother, friend, and football player who loved to help others. At 16 years old, Matt passed away from suicide, prompting his family to take action in their community.

The Matt Alsfeld Memorial Fund was founded in 2017, with the mission of bringing suicide prevention education programs into high schools in Rhode Island.

I had the pleasure of working with Becky and Megan, Matt’s mother and sister, on this project. My goal was to create a video that told Matt’s story, while encouraging others to talk with their peers about mental health.

This video was used for a Greek Life Philanthropy Week fundraiser at the University of Rhode Island in 2021.
